10 weeks with my Mom!

10 Weeks

No idea why my Dr wanted me to go in for a 10 week appt as we have our 12 week scheduled for February 14. However as my mom was coming to town it was so neat to have her come to the appt with me. Brad decided to sit this one out as he needed to catch up at work and I would have been really sad to have been there by myself.

We got to see the baby move!!!  "He" no longer looked like the Lima Bean, Brad and I had been so proud of just two weeks ago. The monitor showed the starts of little arms, legs,  mouth, and we could even see the outlines of eyes and a nose. Now "He" looked more like an Alien, and was dancing around in there having quite the party in there from the looks of it. I was so sad Brad had to miss it.

The good news is with all the crazy dancing going on the Dr gave us the go ahead to let our little secret out! So today I mailed the first set (out of state) pregnancy announcements. I can't wait to share our excitement with everyone.

***A small side note***

The reason I am referring to the baby as "he", is because I remember myself as a child and I'm not sure that I am ready for a little girl aka a little me. But my mom and just about everyone except Brad is just sure we are having a little girl. This is going to be interesting come April when this can finally be settled.

How did it take so long for a few weeks to pass? The time seemed to creep by getting no closer to my first Dr appt. All the parents know now and a few friend's as it is hard to hide me not drinking.  I'm not sure they are going to be able to keep our secret. But the good news is that they won't have to for much longer. We saw our baby for the first time today, heart beat and all! I have spent the last weeks not sleeping and making myself crazy reading blogs and stories of first appts and no baby heart beats... now I can sleep! I was shocked to find out that instead of the 8 weeks I thought I was the Dr said that according to the babie's size we are more like 7! So the due date has been moved out to the 27, it looks like we are going to have another September birthday!
